Greetings

It is our pleasure to announce that CORLAS 2023 (Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum) will be held at the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo from August 27 (Sun) to August 30 (Wed), 2023.

Founded in the Netherlands in 1926, CORLAS is an academic organization whose members are physicians and researchers in the fields of otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery, and it holds an annual meeting (CORLAS Meeting) to discuss various issues in these fields. The members are selected through deliberations based on recommendations from CORLAS members in each country and approval by the General Assembly, and only physicians and researchers who have made outstanding achievements in research and development in the field of otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery are permitted to join the CORLAS. It is a great honor for me to serve as president of such a long-standing and prestigious society.

At the CORLAS Meeting, approximately 300 members from all over the world gather together for discussions through keynote lectures, mini-symposia, poster presentations, etc. At CORLAS 2023, we will invite world-renowned speakers to participate in these various academic presentations to share the latest findings, engage in lively discussions among members, and build friendships. We will consider a variety of academic and social programs in order to build friendly relationships among the members. The conference will be held at the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, well known for its beautiful Japanese garden, so that participants from overseas can experience Japanese culture at the conference venue. We hope that participants will make use of the beautiful garden as a place for networking and making new contacts.

Due to the spread of COVID-19, international conferences around the world have been forced to cancel or postpone, go online, or downsize, but gradually more and more international conferences are being held locally. In Japan, entry restrictions were lifted from October 2022, allowing us to hold the conference at the most appropriate time for inviting participants from all over the world. It has been 34 years since the 1988 Congress in Tokyo, and the Organizing Committee and members of CORLAS Japan are united in welcoming you with a spirit of cordial hospitality.

We hope this meeting would be an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, share knowledge, join old friends, and create new friendships. We would be delighted to show the Japanese hospitality of ‘Omotenashi’ to you and to your distinguished colleagues.
